[Trisquel-devel] Trisquel 4.0 mini observations and some problems

A quick note: the issue of RAM comsumption has mysteriously resolved today on its own. It now takes in Gnome about 140 Mb according to System Monitor and the speed of the system seems to be fine. Only thing is that session manager is now GDM, though I selected LXDE session manager when installing Gnome (after rebooting yesterday a couple of times it was still LXDE but it has changed today on its own for some reason). As for dualhead support it works much better in this version with LXDE (on previous versions of Trisquel as well as in Ubuntu you had to configure in each session the correct resolution for the external monitor).

A request/suggestion: Would it be possible to add an option in the main menu of the live CD to test md5sum without splash. That would prevent possible problems with some graphics.

Thanks a lot for the work done.

I have installed Trisquel Mini BETA on a P4/500 Mb RAM and I observe the following issues:

- It is not possible to see the result of CD test for errors. All files are checked one by one (you can see that) but the final message is only "press any key to reboot", so it is not possible to know whether the CD is correct.

- Once installed It consumes a huge amount of RAM (about 325 Mb in LXDE and 350 in Gnome). As a result it is extremely slow. I guess something went wrong with the installation though I do not know what.
