From rynosp at talk2eo.me.uk Tue Oct 21 04:04:55 2025 From: rynosp at talk2eo.me.uk (Ryan) Date: Tue, 21 Oct 2025 05:04:55 +0100 Subject: [Trisquel-devel] Jami on Trisquel Message-ID: Hello all, I was wondering that given the state of Jami in debian and ubuntu means that the package doesn't seem to be getting the updates that are released which means that old versions don't often work with newer ones and that given there is a PJSIP vuln that hasn't been fixed in bookworm. Is there a way that trisquel can provide the stable release to users. Is it a case that given that the Jami project packages for trisquel (really ubuntu lts) that this could be used in some form. For example using what ever build config that they do for this to release to package it for trisquel. Or is it simpler that using the instructions (in the form of a wiki) to install it on trisquel using the jami projects release and repository/.deb(s) are an acceptable way of installing jami for trisquel users (I am not sure how in line with a completely free distro the jami projects release is?). I know guix over trisquel can do this, but guix is a bit heavy on both older and low power SBC compared to being able to install via apt and have update as part of the unusual system update process. Anyhow, I just thought I'd ask to see what the case could be? Many Thanks Ryan
