Hi all,

I did a test from fresh today of the Alpha ISO, so I could try and help
out with testing.

I noted that the installer works great with the exception of a
previously mentioned issue, whereby selecting Install Trisquel at the
grub menu rather than try trisquel without installing produced the same
results whereby you are booted into the Mate DE and have to then select
install trisquel, after this going through the installation was
uneventful. This felt no different to with Aramo, I choose to partion
into a ext4 and swap manually, this to worked fine. I did notice that
durring the installtion the installer complained about the CDROM in the
sources list as it expected ecne but got aramo, but as I don't think it
was relevant to my install, It didn't cause any issues. For reference i
did the install on an x200 Tablet.

After installation, I altered MATE panels to my preferred layout and
had no issues doing so, then I updated then installed many of the usual
extra packages I needed Dino, Gajim, MPV etc these all seem to have no
issue either. I found it very hard to find anything not working, infact
I noticed that the power polling of the battery when connected and
disconnected has been fixed which was nice. I spent a few hours playing
around trying to find something not working but as of yet I could only
find one thing:

Onboard segfaults once opened and the the mouse is moved over it. I
found this
https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/onboard/-/issues/2
which appears to be of a similar or same issue type, indeed the
solutuion of changing the onboard-settings input source to gtk from
xinput did fix it, so not sure if the same fix is required as was for
archlinux.

I wasn't able to install Newsboat, as apt complained about no release
candidate. But I wasn't sure whether that was beacuse this was still an
alpha, but couldn't find reference to it in Ecne repos either.

It looks a very nice looking release to come methinks, I will keep
prodding and poking to see if I can find anything else.

Mamy thanks for the work everyone is doing on Ecne.

Hope this is of some use, sorry if not. I suppose not finding too much
to report is a good thing.

Regards
Ryan
