Hi fellow trisquel developers
After tackling down the complexity of the package-helpers, and split them
up in a way that is easier for others to contribute, the next obvius step
for me was the makeiso script, responsible the trisquel cd images.
I hereby announce the creation of a new imag builder system for Trisquel,
avaliable at:
https://devel.trisquel.info/aklis/live-config
It's based on live-build, and it's not tied to any trisquel
infraestructure. The system is fully documented at http://live.debian.net
A new image built using this system is avaliable for testing at:
http://jenkins.trisquel.info/lb-images/0909-1834/
Also, you can run the builder yourself with:
* apt-get install -y git live-build
* git clone https://devel.trisquel.info/aklis/live-config.git
* cd live-config && sudo lb build
Images are a bit rough, some of the bigger bugs you will find are:
* Ubuntu background in syslinux
* "Install trisquel" menu option doesn't work, and shows the desktop
* The installer uses "Install Ubuntu" as it's name
But, quoting Linus, for the time being, if it compiles, it is good; if it
boots up, it is perfect.
As usually, any questions/thoughs would be appreciated, and for more long
discussions, I'm usually avaliable in the #trisquel-dev irc channel at
freenode
