Hello everyone,

I'm pleased to announce the availability of testing
netinstall tarballs.

This is an early stage of development for the netinstall. While
Ecne is reaching a good level of maturity, it is still not
production-ready, so this release is targeted at early testers,
enthusiasts, and advanced users.

You can find the tarballs at:

https://builds.trisquel.org/debian-installer-images/

Look for the file:

debian-installer-images_20241227trisquel18.9.testing

Currently available for the following architectures:

amd64

armhf

arm64

ppc64el

Please note: Ecne meta-packages are not ready yet, so you
will likely only be able to install a minimal system for now. You
can then enable a custom development repository [1] to install a
desktop environment such as MATE, LXDE, or GNOME.

This d-i/netinstall release drops several old patches and adopts
an approach closer to Debian, while still applying
Trisquel-specific modifications.

I encourage you to test the installer thoroughly on VMs or test
hardware and report any issues or quirks that may still need
ironing out.

ARM users: the netinstall will only boot on a limited set
of supported devices. This release doesn't change much from Aramo
in terms of compatibility; support still needs to be addressed on
a per-device basis.

Feel free to follow up on this mailing list or reach out via the
#trisquel-dev IRC channel.

Read you there, cheers! o/
